Open Office – The Best For PDF Conversion

I have just finished a special ebook for my list, and it had some embedded hyperlinks.  But they didn’t appear in the finished pdf document after I had converted with some of the free pdf software.  I have PDF Suite on my computer, plus I tried DoPDF and a couple of other recommended converters, but none converted the embedded links.  I like to search for other people’s queries about the same problem, and tried some of their tips.  Nada.

Then I remembered I also have Open Office on my computer which has an inbuilt PDF converter.  Open Office, for those who may not know, is similar to Microsoft Word – and all their other suites (Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint) etc – except they are free.  Totally.

And another nifty feature about Open Office is that it easily opens up documents created in MSWord.  So I opened my document via OO, and clicked the PDF button, and voila!   A beautiful pdf document with embedded links intact.  Success!
